My lists like this change a lot, at times it's whatever songs strike me, later there will be scores of songs and pieces that go above some of these, so in no way is this an eternal, set in stone list.



No idea what the top played is... I delete stuff off my iTunes and have it on iPod and external hard drive, and the iPod has no top played feature... but I know it wouldn't be very similar to this list.



C. Motley Crue, it was them or Aerosmith, Aerosmith is generic hard rock but they were influential... M.C. is just **** hair metal. Napalm Death was influential on shitty grindcore and death metal which is superior to cock rock... The Kinks were influential on both punk and heavy metal so no argument there, and ELO was one of the first and best orchestra rock bands which is definitely something, also just great Beatlesque pop music, which is all good for me, there should have been more of that stuff.

To be fair, my iTunes for some reason hasn't counted a lot of my plays. For example, I know I've listened to Burning Down the House more than three times, but that's what it says on iTunes. So this isn't entirely accurate.





And for the bonus question, I'd say Napalm Death because I've never heard of them and I'm really knowledgable about music. Plus the band name sounds like one of those stupid death-core-black-grind-whatever bands.

Runner up I'd say would be Motley Crue because they were just another band from the 80s hair metal scene which only produced a few good bands (Poison, Ratt, Bon Jovi if you count them as part of that scene).

Please don't listen to the people dissing The Kinks, ELO, and Aerosmith. Aerosmith is one of the greatest blues-based hard rock bands of the 70s and 80s. The Kinks are classic and they inspired TONS of bands. ELO paved the way for arty, keyboard-based rock.
