My favorite musical era/genre was the hard rock, metal, alternative and grunge music from 1990-1995. I get taken back to that time whenever I watch movies like "Singles," "Empire Records," "Airheads," "Clerks" or "Mallrats." What movies best represent your favorite era or genra of rock?

Jimmy Jazz

I like a lot of the ones you mentioned but I like The Crow better. I thought that soundtrack was pretty kickass. Mostly early 90s rock. YEAH!!!

And Superfly from the 70s for funk. That soundtrack rules.

I haven't seen you around here in a long time! :O

The Sound Of Music.

Haha joke,

Easy Rider, easily. It has an incredible soundtrack. Steppenwolf, Hendrix, The Band! And with one of the most era defining, epic songs ever - Born To Be Wild! Aah, I love that soundtrack.

I'm having difficulty remembering, so I will think and come back when I do. :)

Almost Famous keeps returning as the soundtrack that I love the best and play the most often... early '70s. And maybe not so coincidentally... it coincides with my 'coming of age' years...

I'm basically the same age as the movie's protagonist, with a similar background (although without getting to write for Rolling Stone and become rich and famous ;-) ~ but being into concerts and partying ~ oh yeah.

**edit**

Oh yeah, Jimmy Jazz ~ Superfly is a great soundtrack!!

I'll also go with 'The Crow' since gothic rock is my favorite genre...NIN's cover of Dead Souls wasn't bad at all...'Burn' is probably one of my favorite The Cure songs...And I really like "It can't rain all the time"

Great movie too..

I think the most recent Masters of Horror soundtrack. It has a lot of Metalcore and Post-hardcore bands on it.

Hi GK Dub, long time no see!

I'll have to pick the original Woodstock film as my all-time favorite.

I'll also pick Almost Famous as another of my favorites.
