Question:
If your favorite band had announced that they were going to call it quits (Read Details)?

Which would you prefer they release, a Greatest Hits album or a new and final album (much like what Michael Jackson was going to do)?

I ask because Till wants to retire from Rammstein at 50 and he's currently 48 (He might, he might not). I've heard that they plan on releasing a Greatest Hits CD sometime this year. I wish they would release a new album instead but they've got 2 more years (probably) to go so it'll be a wait and see thing.

BQ: Have you ever bought a Greatest Hits CD?

I'd prefer another album, because thats new material. A greatest hits would be pointless since I would have all of those songs on the studio albums. It isnt adding anything new, but simply rearranging already released songs on another album.

BQ: I got The Best of Pantera only because they are very hit and miss. Usually I dont bother however since studio albums tend to be more cohesive.

Release a new and final album. And no, I have never bought a Greatest Hits CD. And if my favourite band, Simple Plan, ever break up, I wouldn't know what to do. I would probably be a sad little person since they're actually the only thing that's keeping me really happy right now.

I obviously would want them to release a new lp. Who cares about greatest hits when they are calling it quits? I mean i know all their songs, what can i do with a greatest hits. They can even be released later on. Many bands have done that.

BQ - Yeah i have, when i'm trying out a new band and also when i don't like a band enough to spend money on seperate cds, i just buy a greatest hits one.

I personally would prefer them to release a final Studio album, much like The Beatles did with their great album Abbey Road.

New and final album of course. I would like them to go out with at least some new material instead of the same old songs stuffed onto a compilation.

BQ:Yes many

the two bands i "comprehend" the ideal are The Smiths and delight branch. they are tremendously plenty tied for my well-liked bands ever. I advise, i comprehend their history, i comprehend their songs, i comprehend their contributors, i comprehend the meanings in the back of their names.... ask absolutely everyone who knows me. i'm obsessed. The Smiths - shall we forget approximately Morrissey's contemporary antics for a 2nd. they are beside the point. The Smiths are mind-blowing because of fact they are on the comparable time very edgy and unusual, yet additionally very obtainable. The lyrics push might push your obstacles a sprint, yet Johnny Marr's mind-blowing guitar artwork attracts you top back in. they don't waste time. They get to the factor, and that they accomplish that fantastically. The vocals are flowing, sweeping, especially situations growing to be into falsetto. The song is darkish, lyrical, and concurrently thoroughly chuffed and heartbreaking. exhilaration branch - Pioneers of submit-punk. (attempt saying that 5 circumstances rapid) Very darkish, for sure, yet plenty extra poetic than immediately's bands that folk call "darkish". i like 70's punk, and this is effect is obvious of their song, yet they take it to an entire new point. The bass throbs, the vocals plunge.. its remarkable. while they are upbeat, like in digital, you are able to truly experience the potential. while they are sluggish, like in environment or Love Will Tear Us aside, the effect is airy. i don't comprehend if "have confidence" is the be conscious i could use to describe how i've got faith approximately those bands. this is not a secure, boring sort of have confidence, a minimum of. thank you, very exciting question!
