Question:
Can you give me the names of some bands/musicians who are good and specialize in funny music?

I am already a big fan of Weird Al, Allan Sherman, and The Presidents of the United States of America (as well as Dr Demento and all his CDs) and I am looking for other bands that focus on laughter or silliness. They don't have to do parodies but they do have to be good at their music and not just funny. There are plenty of funny bands out there that have medocre (at best) music. Thanks for your help.

Frank Zappa and The Mothers of Invention may fit the bill. Superb Musicians all, and shown to perfection here.on "Moving To Montana"

"I'm pluckin' the ol' Dennil (dental) Floss

That's growin' on the prairie

Pluckin' the floss!

I plucked all day an' all nite an' all Afternoon...

I'm ridin' a small tiny hoss

(His name is MIGHTY LITTLE)

He's a good hoss

Even though He's a bit dinky to strap a big saddle or

Blanket on anyway"

dethkloks first albums has quite a few funny songs. the humor in there music comes off as less intentional then someone like weird al and you would prolly need to read the lyrics along with the song to understand him. but any death metal band that growls about not wanting to pay taxes or taking off somebody's face with the front of there hatred copter has to give you some good laughs.

look on youTube for The Rock Bottom Boys, a current group working the fair circuit. That should get you started because there are other groups near their videos that you can also watch.

Another incredibly funny group from the 50's that were relatively famous were the Hoosier Hotshots, who sang songs like "I like Bananas Because They Have No Bones". See Ben Bernie: Singing In the Bathtub.( lots of orchestra before the vocal)

similar as Josh, plus a Willie's position fan too, Outlaw united states of america on XM, Bluegrass channel on XM, Pandora, internet radio, Larry's united states of america Diner (i think it really is on RFD, isn't it?), Susie McEntire Luchsinger's Cowboy Church (also an RFD software... i'm a frequenter of the RFD community!), and very some random gospel united states of america and bluegrass that I come for the time of on the internet, radio, relations, etc... were given a relations finished of Southern Missionary Baptist gospel singers, so i'm quite a rustic gospel fan. i'm prepared on the classics too, so extremely some my stuff in simple terms comes from listening to the old criteria...
