Question:
Everybody's so depressed...?
Mercury's Girl **rocks**

Good evening, (or morning, or afternoon, whatever it is where you are) to all of R&P.

Well, as it was Freddie Mercury's birthday on Friday (he was 62...) i wached a documentry on his life... and death. it was so sad to see him struggling through AIDS, trying, (unsuccessfully) to recover. They said that he started praying, quietly at night. It showed the video of Those Were the Days of Our Lives, and he looked like a skeleton. he was so ill, i swore after the first time i watched it never to do so again, but nevertheless i did on Friday.

Now, i come onto R&P, for a bit of cheering up, and everyone's upset about Keith Moon! is there no end to the depression?!

There are too many amazing, yet dead people in the world...

Right now I'm listening to "Thank You" by Led Zeppelin, featuring drums by another wonderful talent who is, sadly, dead--John Bonham. It seems that all day they've been playing music by great musicians who are no longer with us. I choose not to dwell on the fact they are gone--I would rather appreciate what they created during their lifetime. And they've just started playing "Dreams I'll Never See" by the Allman Brothers Band with Duane Allman--someone else who died far too soon. I'll just raise a glass to them and enjoy their music. No need to get depressed about them being gone--they would not have wanted it that way.

I just keep asking myself why Jimi Hendrix and Bon Scott had to die, Especially Bon is always on my mind....It was too much, too young, too fast....

And Keith....what a loss to the music world.

It's certainly depressing. I'm not in the position to cheer anyone up today :) Sorry...

But I did try, with my funny videos question :)

I tend to not answer questions like that because although I highly respect the talent of individuals who have died, I don't feel the need to wallow in the fact that they are gone. They have left their testimonials to life in the form of the music they've left and I'd rather celebrate that then deify someone I've never met.

Just my own opinion of course, anyone else is free to do as they wish.

Anyway, cheer up. Freddie is in a better place and he is not sufferering anymore.

Yeah, I'm sad about George Harrison's death. I am every day. I'm probably the only one in R&P who doesn't miss Keith Moon, but I guess I do a little. Why do the great die young!!?!?
