FML:What do you think about Lulu?

Question

I love it I think its the most original album to come out in years

But one think that I don't like about it is that I don't think that Lou's vocals meld very well with Metallica's playing on a few songs

I knew they were working on somthing together but I didn't know it was available. I think Lou did a fairly good job blending in on a couple of tracks.

I hate it, but I do agree it is quite an original idea. Thing is, Lou Reed's vocals are getting relatively weak now he's a bit older, and the album was apparently recorded in ten days which means a lot of the takes are a bit shoddy, especially for the drums. I also agree with what you said about Lou Reed's vocals not going with Metallica's playing.



I like the idea of it, but it could've been executed a lot better.



BQ: I like some of Junior Dad, but it being 20 minutes long is a bit tedious



BQ2: Both. I will agree that some people didn't understand that it's meant to be a soundtrack to some early 1900s plays, but then again when people buy an album they want a relative structure to a lot of the songs, which this album partly lacked.

Has some good riffs, only problem is they repeat way too often. They would do better without Lou's gibberish too.

BQ2: Buy and sell. Some didn't know who Lou Reed was and expected a Metallica album, others hated it because they thought the songs were terrible but they still knew that it was a concept album (Like me).

It's one of the worst things ever recored. It's not avant-garde, it's sloppy, lazy, uninspired crap. There's nothing avant-garde about an old man reciting vulgar nonsense (regardless of inspiration or derivation) over recycled, monotonous guitar riffs and bad drumming.



BQ: Junior Dad, I guess

BQ2: Sell. People don't like Lulu because it's half-a**ed garbage that works on no artistic level whatsoever. It doesn't even have much ironic or comedic value. I doubt Metallica or Lou Reed understand it.

Do you really think it's one of the best albums to come out in years? If I didn't know you, I would think you were trolling. I thought it was crap the first time, gave it a second chance. No dice. It sucks.
