Did Jimi Hendrix do heroin?

My mom told me I couldn't listen to Jimi Hendrix anymore because he did heroin. Is that true? I told her no he didn't then she said yes he did and I couldn't listen to him anymore because he was a drug addict. Is any of that even true? How can I convince her he wasn't so I can listen to him again?

yes he did take heroin but then again most rock/music artists have taken drugs of some kind but that doesn't mean you are going to take them just because they do. is she going to stop you listing to music full stop? your best way to deal with it is to respect your mums opinion but convince her that you wouldn't take drugs and that you have your own mind. also tell her that its his music you like not the fact that he took drugs. and more important be mature when you speak to your mun about it. that will go a long way.

No, despite what most believe, though Jimi Hendrix was alive during and associated with an extremely experimental era of not only music, but sex, drug experimentation, and heavy counter culture/anti-establishment social reform, he was openly known to be uncomfortable around friends and aquatinces who were using or under the effects of Heroin. This is not to say he didn't use certain drugs, he was known to have used the pschedellic LSD (Lysergic Acid Diethylamide) which has little to no liability of addiction, he used Cannabis with the active chemical THC (Delta-9 Tetrahydrocannabinol) which has little to no liability of addiction, as well as taking other certain amphetamines, barbiturates, and the use of alcohol. Once again, Jimi Hendrix did not use heroin, despite popular belief.

So, I guess she doesn't listen to much music? Not many movies? These actors and musicians have quite a history of drug and alcohol use. I REALLY hope she doesn't like '50s/60s Jazz! They were all pot smokers and heroin addicts!

No. The Coroner that examined his body said there were no track marks or signs of IV drug use. He took too many sleeping pills and ate food right before bed and drank wine. It's sad because he wasn't a junkie as portrayed. He just chocked on his vomit while sedated. The woman with him didn't call ambulance quickly or he may have been rescued.

you betcha. died of an overdose. he was on other **** too probably qualudes and some other ****. i was a heroin addict for 4 years i shot heroin for 3 and a half of those years i did time in chicagos cook county jail division 5. tell your mom your talking to me hahahahahaha.... ****** *****.
