Q1: I have a hard time answering this one because I can't take the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame seriously. It's just like that website Metal Archives, it's run by a bunch of opinionated music snobs who only add the artists they want to add and not artists that should be added. Some of the artists they induct have had little to virtually nothing to do with rock music. You know, what the hell are Janet Jackson, NWA, and Chaka Khan doing on that list? If I go down the list of everything wrong with the R&RHoF and why no one should take it seriously, this answer is gonna be much longer than I'm sure you'll care to read.

Q2: It would be easier to say "The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a joke because ______ IS in it" but I can name quite a few other acts that should've been inducted a long time ago and still aren't today other than Deep Purple. The Monkees, Joan Baez, The Doobie Brothers, King Crimson, Roxy Music, The Moody Blues, Jethro Tull, Kraftwerk, Joy Division, Ronnie James Dio, Judas Priest, Slayer, Pixies. Each of them are eligible for induction and many of them have been for a very long time. But who knows when the hell they will be inducted? But after seeing that nothing has changed as evidenced by the current list of inductees, who cares?

Q: I'd say that Deep Purple, The Smiths, Nine Inch Nails, Yes & The Cars should get inducted.

Q2: The Smiths would mostly likely fill that position. The Cure, Joy Division & Sonic Youth would be good candidates for that position, too.

However, to echo what other people have said, don't take the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame too seriously. Any institution like that that has the nerve to include Green Day (on their first try, nonetheless) while leaving out Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Joy Division, King Crimson and many others is probably a piece of **** in the first place.

The Smiths

The Cars

(bring Steve Miller and Cheap Trick in next year)

Deep Purple's been nominated twice before and passed over, so I'm not holding my breath. Most prog bands aren't in (except Pink Floyd and Genesis), so any one of those could fill the mantle. My picks would be Jethro Tull and the Electric Light Orchestra.

Well well well... Cheap Trick and Deep Purple absolutely.

NWA in The "Rock And Roll" Hall Of Fame? We might as well throw the whole idea of things that rock out the window. When rappers are being inducted somethings not right.

Eddie Trunk complained about the VMAs on his podcast. I thought, who needs mainstream media to give rock bands a vma award? Let's start our own. Im getting the same feeling about this Rock and rock hall of fame. It's just a hall of fame without the rock let's be real.

Cars, Deep Purple, Cheap Trick. Steve Miller and the Smiths. Have to say half the rest should never have been considered. I have to add , I don't necessarily like who I chose but know they belong.
