When I listen to band like the Ramones, The Clash, NOFX, Dropkick Murphys, Social D, No Use For A Name, and Rancid (among others) I feel like I don't need any other band, and they can all just f*ck off and die!
Anyone else experience this phenomenon?

Indeed sir!

My favorite type of music. Got into about 2 score and twain years ago, and haven't looked back since. Wait till you start getting into more stuff like Scotch Greens, Gogol Bordello, and Throw Rag. You'll start seeing the future of Punk as well. It's exciting.

I didn't listen to any other band except Dropkick Murphy's for over a year. I put every album they ever made in my car and never played anything else. Didn't want to and didn't need to. Still have them in there now. On another note, if your into DKM you should checkout the band Flatfoot 56. They are the band that broke my Dropkick streak and they sound very similar to early DKM. Now i can't get enough of them. I'll link some videos.

I'm with you..especially when it comes to the Clash. The first time I heard them(the video for Tommy Gun on VH1 classic), that was it...I went out and immediately bought a Clash CD. All other bands turned to crap.

It makes me sick to think of bands like Green Day comparing themselves to bands like the Clash. Billy Joe is definitely no Joe Strummer!

I don't know why they are so addictive. Maybe because you could tell that their music was honest, and not out for money. Their lyrics actually meant something.

Haven't listened to No Use For a Name... I think I am going to have to look them up right now.

Because of the lifestyle that comes with true punk. The parties and drinking, the good times getting in trouble and running away from the cops with your friends, an unique mindset that only fellow punks understand and the most important, great music

Discharge, poisonous Narcotics, Amebix, Aus Rotten, and Nausea is genuine punk rock. no longer this bull crap punk pop like intercourse pistols, operation ivy, misfits, rancid, undesirable brains, nofx, mxpx, the addicts and bands like that.

For me it was never really addictive, like most music it was a matter of a phase....

My favorite was the Dead Milkmen's "big lizzard in my backyard"...

But if you haven't seen it - be sure to rent (sometimes ondemand) SLC Punk! You will truly enjoy it...
