Question:
Know any good non-country songs from the south?

I am trying to put together a CD based around the south for my friend. I'm looking for modern southern rock (1990s and later) songs that talk specifically about the south. While I have nothing against Skynard or Sweet Home Alabama, I don't want old-school southern rock. I am thinking songs along the lines of "Southern Thang" and "King of New Orleans" by Better than Ezra. I am avoiding country songs, but the twang of southern music is good. Thanks for your help :)
