Question:
Would you put a DW front bass drum head in a PDP drum?

Hey guys
I just bought a PDP by DW F Series (F7) and I would like to know your opinion about changing the original bass drum head (with PDP logo) for a drum head only with a DW logo.

It's a PDP, not a DW.. so it would be weird.. wouldn't it?

I'm assuming you want everyone to think you play a DW set.....kind of weak dude.

Not sure who you are trying to impress if that is your plan. If you are a good player then you could play 4 tin cans and a trash can cover and no one will care. If you suck and play a nice set...then people will think you're a dumb musician and paid for an expensive set when you can't play. Or if you aren't a good player, put a DW head on a PDP set...they will think you're a poser.

Listen, I'm just keeping it real my friend. Just play the darn drums. In the times I've played out with bands I've played a Yamaha Recording Custom, a Ludwig Vistalite, a 1964 ludwig blue oyster peal kit and a CB kit. you know what, it doesn't matter what you play, if you lay it down and the music sounds good no one gives a crap what you're playing. I actually used my CB practice kit when I played dive bars as I was paranoid the nice kits would get beat up to much.

Depends on why you want to change the resonant head for. If just to try to make your set look fancier, then I agree with the first person that is a pretty lame reason. I myself own a PDP X7 kit, and I replaced the all the PDP heads with DWs including the resonant bass head with a DW logo. I did this not for looks, but only for the fact that the DW front bass head is vented with small holes, giving the bass the punch I was looking for. The DW heads by Remo are better quality heads then the stock heads that came with the kit.
