Pop vs Rock?????????????

Question

I already know the answer to this question. I tried to answer other peoples question like this but it wouldn't let me for some reason. Anyways, music is all about emotion. People who like Rock more usually have more aggression and anger well for hard rock anyways. People who like Pop are happier and joyful. Which is why some hard rockers say Pop is for *******. Personally I like Hard Rock way more, Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, Three Days Grace, Metallica . . . . . **** like that. Probably because I have more anger and aggression and depression for my emotions. And also I don't care if you like Pop or Country or Rap or even Techno. Everyone likes what they like and I won't ***** about that. Even though I do wish rockers had more fans. There's so much more pop fans probably because there is more happy people in the world I guess. (sigh) very frustrating -_- but ya let me know if you agree or not and feel free to choose which you like better it will be like an experiment to see which is more popular. Thank You

i agree that music is all about emotion, but i disagree that pop is "happier" or more joyful than rock. as an emotion rock is easier to surf along the emowave into the deeper dimensions of life, if u know what i mean here

First of all, other than Three Days Grace, none of the rock bands you named are considered or ever will be "hard rock". Those bands are more metal bands (and Bullet for My Valentine ******* blows). If you actually want to get into some real hard rock n' roll might I suggest Clutch, Priestess, King's X, The Cult, Masters of Reality, Eleven, Pride Tiger, Wolfmother, Stereophonics, Burning Brides, Queens of the Stone Age, Led Zeppelin, and Deep Purple.



Second of all you cannot generalize that all rock is agressive because there are many subgenres of rock such as alternative rock, emo, grunge, indie rock, punk rock, etc. which do not necessarily center aggression.



Third of all there is no better genre, pop or rock, they are both good in different ways. They are also very similar in some aspects as well.

I love Hard Rock like Avenged Sevenfold, Bullet For My Valentine, Three Days Grace, Metallica and I don't have anger issues/angression/depression, or at least not because of that music... I'd have to say Rock is way better, Pop is just too whiny for me, it makes me get really angry, hard rock makes me feel all happy and good...

I like Rock myself, but not because I'm an angry person. Don't think anyone who likes rock are sad and depressing people! They are quite the opposite. Have you ever been to a hard rock gig/concert? Everyone's having a whale of a time!! Cheering, shouting, singing along. I like rock more because I just like the style more.

Rock takes more talent than pop honestly and kids these days like **** auto tuned music. Don't get me wrong there are some artists who have talent and can actually sing, but artists like drake and lil wayne annoy me they are talentless and sound like ****. While rock and metal bands work their asses off without using computers and auto tuned crap. So I agree rock should have more fans because it's more talent lyrics are better written and it's not all about drugs and partying.

i HATE pop music, and im probably one of the happiest people you will ever meet. There are plenty of people out there that listen to rock music that are upset with their lives and angry but there are plenty who are happy and just like the music. Same goes for pop, but you dont need talent to be in the pop industry, all you need is a good auto tune machine :)

most people in the rock industry have TRUE talent, they sing about real life and things people go through all the time, their lyrics are raw and speak to people, rock music is just more relatable.

Rock is real music for me. And I really like real music. The music that is composed with real artists who make art and very meaningful lyrics that goes along with the sounds of the instruments. If pop stops making songs about teenage girls, then that would be great,. Plus, pop should stop aiming for catchiness purely.
