ITunes called me emo?

okay so for those of u that use iTunes you know how th iTunes genius can make play list for u. well I had it make one for me. it made an Emo Mix. ( please no hate comments) What I want to know is if "emo" is a real genre. I personally don't think emo itself is real. but how did iTunes come up with an "emo mix"??

Emo is short for "Emotional Hardcore". Bands that fit the genre are, Black Veil Brides, From First To last, Escape the fate ect....

Emo is a real genre, it's just not very popular. It's got plenty of bands too. People just get the wrong idea and claim bands like My Chemical Romance are emo because they lead singer wears eye liner, which isn't at all why emo is about.

Yes, "emo" is a real genre. Bands like Panic at the Disco and Dashboard Confessional could be considered "emo" if that's what you're listening to. I wouldn't worry about it, as their music tends to reach a deeper level than most of the crap that's on the radio now.
