i mean seriously it's just a band and not even a good one at that

It's not so much the question that made me cringe, it's the thing in the details about the list of how "real" mcr fans act.



Yes, they're just a band. A pop band. A not very good pop band at that, if what I've heard is representative of their work. The sad fact is that if you doll it up, blur the gender lines a little, and promote the hell out of it, then all the little kids will buy into it... and buy it.... I mean, look at the boy bands, tatu, and the commercial success of rap, its all the same thing. Target a lifestyle, adopt its imagery, and write songs that support that lifestyle and affirm its ideals (if any).



Hmmm. Sounds a lot like "christian" rock, "christian" metal, "christian" punk, etc.



But I digress... I just wanted to comment on that list of how "real" mcr fans act.

A "violent pose"? wtf? Is that some "emo" way of saying they won't fight back? Has anyone ever really associated mcr fans and acts of violence? ... well, maybe with committing crimes against fashion....

wtf? So we all know the definition of "jaded", right? Bored? So, "even when we're reeeeaaally bored, we'll have hope"?



You can tell that was written by someone who has never had to worry about where their next meal was coming from, or had to make a choice between clothes and food, or even someone who knew anything about our economy or state of politics.



Man, boredom is so crushing to the soul!





"We won't be alcoholic anymore!"



Whoever wrote this has no idea what it means to be alcoholic. This was the one part that got to me, but now that I'm talking about it... I think I'll leave it at that.

I'm really getting tired of hearing about this band. I'm really getting tired of hearing how people get so stupid about this band (well, these guys and avenged sevenfold). I'm even getting tired of hearing people tell people how stupid they are about this band, because the stupid people just get that glazed look in their eye and are like "weLL, yOu mU5t bE a H&teR" which just confirms their stupidity on so many levels....

okay really now...

mcr doesnt make that top ten list, the stupid cult fans do. theres only like a handful of people that would be in that cult group.

and the song with "i am not afraid to keep on living, i am not afraid to walk this world alone" was written after they were hanging out with this like 10 year old kid who had leukemia.



i've seen the band live... and theyre amazing. but two things about them still make me mad.

1. the rhythm guitarist sucks, he has the most simple stuff in the world.

2. the bassist pretty much does nothing and he's all conceited.





but as for the rest of the band, theyre all amazing musicians (see "thank you for the venom")

MCR don't promote suicide they are preventing it. i stopped wishing to be dead after i hired them i was going to kill my self and i didn't cus of MCR and how is "I am not afraid to keep on living (famous last words:The black parade)" or any of there songs a suicide cult anthem relay MCR r not life destroyers they are life savers and i love them for it they are my Favorit band ever. you are just so right you couldn't be any more right if you tried and relay i know people who's lives where saved by songs like im not ok and Famous last words and our lady of sorrows they are all so good

I got in a fight with one of my girlfriend's friends because he said that MCR is way better than Nirvana or Led Zeppelin the other day. How pathetic is that?

Even though their music is horrible now, I don't have anything against them personally.

They just know how to make money. They know how to say things that'll make teen girls all yummy in the pants, and thus, buy their records.
