Am I the only one left that hates rap and thinks its a degradation of music as an art?

I mean come on the **** that dominates radio waves is so talentless. I could literally create that music on this very laptop. What happened to artistic innovation? What happened to people caring about talent? The days of Bowie & Eno are long gone...
At least we have Muse.

It is sad isn't it.. I don't absolutley hate rap but I do agree that it gets too much praise when there is wayyyyy better music out there.. I feel ya.. but there not much one can do to change it.. and it sucks terribly.



I have to say I agree with many of the people below.. Rap music isn't always about b****** and gangs.. or just ridiculous stuff.. your should explore it a little more..

Well Pete it's like this, any audiophile head worth their weight in music knows that trash has dominated the radio waves for eons! There's great music around today even without Bowie and Eno mixing it up. Talent breeds talent.

Every time music progresses this happens. When The Beatles came out, die-hard Elvis fans said they sucked and weren't artists at all. When grunge came around in the 90s, 80s Rock n' Roll fans hated it.



See what I mean? I know not all Elvis fans hate the Beatles and ect, but every time music starts to change there's always someone there saying it sucks.

I think straight up rappers like Lil' Wayne, T-Pain, and Kanye West auto-tune are. However there are bands like Limp Bizkit, Rage Against the Machine, and Linkin Park who have rap in their music, and I consider them talented because one their not using auto-tune and can actually sing, two they don't just rap, they fuse it with rock, and third they play instruments which is more then Kanye can do.

Your first mistake was using the radio to base your opinion on a genre of music. Secondly Hip-Hop is a legitimate form of music and if you don't think so then either you are really biased or ignorant. I suggest listening to Rap albums that real hip-hop heads would recommend.
