Like others have said the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame is a joke. My thought is that basically the Hall is anti-Prog Rock. What do Rush, Yes, ELP, Moody Blues, King Crimson, Jethro Tull all have in common? 1. They are not in the Hall of Fame, 2. Pretty much considered Prog. I do realize that both Genesis and Pink Floyd are in, but my guess would be that Genesis was inducted on the weight of the top 40ish Phil Collins stuff and maybe they don't consider Floyd to be Prog. Just doing a little research the Hall has been criticized for ignoring certain genres all together and Prog is one genre most often overlooked. When you have a supposed Rock and Roll HoF that inducts the likes of Madonna, Grand Master Flash to name a couple before Alice Cooper (who finally got in) you have figure somethig is really wrong with the voting process and the people that run it. DJ Eddie Trunk is no fan of the Hall many a times he has gotten on his soap box on That Metal Show about the Hall and usually when it comes to Rush not being in it. With the bias towards Prog I really don't see any of the above name artists getting inducted.

Rock & Roll Voters have shown a distinct lack of knowledge in 2 genres Heavy Metal & Progressive, those type of bands just have a heck of a time getting noticed by them. It's not right and the R&R Hall of fame voting needs to be revamped big time. Plus Groups Like Chicago & Moody Blues not getting in while lesser "Hit Maker" groups that weren't influential are in is a joke.

Well Rush didn't have as many hits as say Led Zeppelin, but they do deserve a place in the HOF for their contributions, so I guess the only real answer to this is that the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame sucks.

They probably should be, but I can understand why they aren't. Although they are quite famous, they weren't extremely influential. They played really technical music, but they weren't really ahead of their time or anything. Artists that get into the RnR hall of fame are usually considered to be musical pioneers and have directly influenced a wide number of acts.
