Led Zeppelin....had the biggest lasting impact. explored various themes in their lyrics. proved worthy of covering a song. had arguably the best musicians. achieved mainstream success without selling out. music didnt get worse towards end of their run.

AC/DC - Bon Scott guy, after that they are good but its just not the same.

Kiss - gimmick and marketing geniuses.

Iron Maiden - admittedly not a fan.

Metallica - Black Album was beginning of end. sell outs. arrogant tight wads who became what they hated.

Van Halen - revolving door singer became old after Roth.

Guns N Roses - Axl has ruined their legacy, tho they pumped out some great work.

Ozzy - if you had said Black Sabbath it would have been tougher.

Zeppelin first because they were one of the first rock bands and they are awesome. Ozzy next because black sabbath is one of the greatest rock badns of all time. Metallica because thrash metal changed rock. Guns N Roses next because they're awesome but not to the status of the other ones before them. Van Halen next because hagar kinda messed up the sound they had. AC/DC always has the same guitar riff and everything throughout the same song so it gets repeatative, Kiss is just incredibly over-rated. Its boring.

Led Zeppelin definently. They had the widest range of musical interests (not just "metal" or whatever. Led Zeppelin is not just "metal" or "hard rock". Just listen to their Houses of the Holy album), made some incredible music (Led Zeppelin fan posers will tell you "Black Dog" and "Rock and Roll" because they are some of the hardest sounding songs. I think these are great songs, but they have so many great/better songs than these), not to mention they didn't just have one good guitarist, or one good vocalist; they had one of the greatest guitarists, one of the greatest vocalists, one of the greatest percussionists, and John Paul Jones (he did more than one thing, but he was still great at them. Other bands would've killed for him). Beat THAT, Iron Maiden.

Out of the bands you mention, in the top part of your section I think there are some very good songs from all of them. That is why at any given time, even 30 years from now, they will be able to do reunion tours at the age of 80 and make millions.



Blink 182, Chemical Romance and so forth are garbage. Its really too bad.

They have the Best Lyrics ever. No offense to the other guys but Maiden to me has the most meaningfull lyrics out of all of them. Not only that but out of all of those bands besides Metallica is the only one that is still really has a strong Fan Base and still has new Material(As seen with "A Matter Of Life and Death). Another Great thing about Maiden is even at 40's,50's, and 60's they manage to still produce great music and put on a awesome live show(EDDIE).
