Yep, really, a 9.

If I can't relate to the lyrics in some way, or the overall song isn't good enough to make the lyrics less important, then I have to say 'no' to that song.





MQ2: Well, if the lyrics aren't clear when sung:

1) if the CD booklet doesn't include the lyrics {they *should* - it's just mean when they don't!}.

2) if I've purchased a song as a download.



BQ: Nay - just not feeling it.

10. The lyrics are half the song. But now that I think about it there are songs I love where the lyrics are average but the music is so good..so I don't know it's hard to say. But in order for it to be the perfect song, I'd say the lyrics have to be pretty darn great.

About 7. Some songs I specifically listen to for their lyrics but most of the time they're not really important. However I'd rather not listen to a song about mcdonalds.

mq2: If i want to sing along a song which i'm listening to i look up for the lyrics or I look up for the lame lyrics only for the lulz from the bands that i doesn't like.

4. Music is more important, and yes the lyrics are important, but if a song has mediocre lyrics and great music, I'd still love it (case in point: Mellon collie and the infinte sadness). However, if the lyrics are shockingly bad I will notice.

They won't make or break a song to me, but one of the main reasons I love La Dispute, and other bands or songs, is because of their lyrics. 9/10
