Question:
Death Magnetic, Chinese Democracy, or Black Ice?

So, 3 major bands in the history of rock and roll came out with new albums in 2008. I am asking which one you think is best and why?

I think it's Black Ice. The new Metallica album just doesn't sound like their older stuff to me, and Chinese Democracy was just a let down. For me, Black Ice is actually a solid album and reminds me of older AC/DC.

hey definatly black ice man AC/DC lives forever although bon scott didnt :( but n e ways yeah its an awsome CD i didnt like it at first but then i got used to it now i listen to them all day. War machine is awsome. DONT YOU DARE BUY CHINESE DEMOCRACY...sorry but buying that is an insult to Slash, Duff, and steven axl is a dick for going on his own and the CD does suck ***. Metallica ive never been that much of a fan but that CD is catchy but im still sayin AC/DC all the way.

I gotta disagree and go with Death Magnetic. It harnesses the ghost of vintage Metallica but shows the the skill of modern production and the musicianship of some fellows that have quite a few years of playing behind them... a quite a few more ahead of them.

At the same time that I respect AC/DC... of course we knew what Black Ice would sound like. Love them or hate them, they only have one way to rock.

Chinese Democracy is OK but all one can do is think of what might have been over the last 20 years if Slash, or Izzy could stand to be in the same room or on the same stage as Axl W. Rose.

I liked seeing the release of some new rock, but it is Metallica the picked up the torch, built a bridge, and restored some of the shine to their tarnished Legacy...

I asked this question a while back. Of course I'm going to say Black Ice because I am a big AC/DC fan and it is one of their best albums IMO.

I think Black Ice sounds like every other AC/DC song. Nothing new was done. As for the other two albums...don't even get me started.

idk i actually love the new Metallica album. All nightmare long is a kickass song. However you're right AC/DC's Black Ice is very reminiscent of older times and brings back the badassedness of the oldies.

As far as GNR's Chinese Democracy I guess i had very high expectations for it and it let me down in everyway possible. : (

Death Magnetic is the best outta the three

All AC/DC songs sound the same anyway, that's why the album's doing good, it's just the same song overs and overs...I guess AC/DC fans can't get enough of that song

Chinese Democracy is just terrible...

Black Ice, AC/DC stuck true to their roots, it's a great addition

Death Magnetic was poorly produced and many riffs are just "filler"

Chinese Democracy took 15 years to make and still stunk.

Black Ice is the one that is having the most sales. I like it a bunch. I often made fun of Stiff Upper Lip, but like you said Black Ice has a good groove to it.
