Compare Kurt Cobain to Miley Cyrus?

Hey! My sister and I are having a huge argument over who's better. She thinks Miley has a better voice and that Kurt Cobain had a terrible voice, boring music, and is overall overdone and not that big of a deal! She claims that in 20 years Miley Cyrus is going to be bigger than Nirvana! What do you think of all this? I tell her to never compare kurt to someone like MILEY! I told her to compare to Jimi Hendrix and other legends and she claims that he's not a legend, and that he shouldn't be compared to other music icons! Can you believe that?! Tell me what you think.

You are right, right, and more right. Kurt completely defined a generation. That other "thing" you mentioned (won't even call her a human at this point) is merely famous so America has something to talk about. Kurt was exactly just like Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, or Bob Dylan. He gave the 90's a voice when they had none. No offense to Eddie Vedder or Alex Band, but they weren't up to the task. He made his own life tragic, and what's so sad is that he was completely unprepared for the tasks of being constantly scrutinized. Never in a million years could an insane, attention-craving weasel like her even hope to have an impact on the same level as Kurt's. There will never be another artist like him. Nirvana was the last truly great rock band, and Miley Cyrus is an embarrassment to us all. Tell your sister she may never understand it, but Kurt will ALWAYS be superior in every possible way.

LOOK OK. I am a huge Nirvana fan. HUGE. And I dont listen to Miley or Justin, they're just not my type, but they are talented, regardless. But because Nirvana and Kurt Cobain were so Iconic, their song material is never touched. I mean have you ever heard a cover since they ended? No, of course not. Covering any of their songs is like covering a Beatles or Jimi Hendrix song. Their music was original and their own style, so for someone to copy it is stupid. And Bieber thinking hes the next Kurt Cobain? No where close.

Really, there's nothing to compare, they produce(d) two completely different types of music.

Compare them? I think both make (made) boring, generic pop music for kids too lazy to find something better. They both dress(ed) like morons and make (made) asses of themselves on television. And the biggest thing they have in common is the fact that people won't shut the hell up about them even though they are dead, commercially in Miley's case and literally in Kurt's case.
