I just asked my uncle to buy me an Epiphone hummingbird from Guitar Center. The price was 350$, now I want to whether it comes with a built-in pickup. And what would be the best pickup for this guitar?

its an acoustic guitar so it probably wont have pick ups

and basically you would need to install more than just pick ups you would have to install an entire system along with it. so talk to the guitar center guys and they could probably help you out with picking one out and also installing it

The Hummingbird does not come with a pickup but an acoustic pickup is cheap and very easy to install. I played with on on my epiphone FT-145 flat top for years. Check out the source below and get your Hummingbird cheaper $299 and use the difference for a pickup.

Epiphones are great guitars - I love mine and just bought an Epiphone Dot last Christmas.

nicely, i do no longer think of that utilising the P94 precludes you from utilising humbuckers... you in simple terms would desire to be cautious to no longer use too intense output of humbuckers, or have a separate volume administration for the two pickups, to make helpful the volumes stability out. Me, i could choose for the Seymour Duncan. no longer asserting that Gibson makes a foul pickup (oh no sir!), yet utilising the SHPR in simple terms grants greater strategies, and that's beautiful to me. From the product description : "...To have humbucker and P-ninety tones and bring interior the added measurement of the only-coil Rail, use a three-way change (DPDT on-off-on)..." it may be in simple terms as straight forward to place a push/pull pot or mini-toggle to alter between the P90 and humbucker tones... you have the quantity knob for that pickup be a push/pull, case in point. I do something like this on my LTD EC-100QM loaded with Seymour Duncan Alnico II professional's and decision 8's.... my tone administration is push/pull, and whilst on, coil-faucets the two doggies on an identical time. you have a push/pull to coil-faucet each and each puppy, so which you will desire to bypass between the humbucker sound and P90 sound extremely easily. of direction, this could get rid of the only-coil basically sound, yet... nicely, so? *grin* in any case, i individually do no longer see an important distinction between the Seymour Duncan and Gibson doggies, and that i actual like the means to bypass between the a number of tones of the SD puppy. a rapid google seek became up some hyperlinks you're interested in examining. I *strongly* urge you to study the comments (final link). There are some stable perspectives in this pickup, that's certainly-reviewed yet with some caveats. awareness what you will get out of the pickup is important, incredibly on the subject of what place you desire to place it in. stable success! You can get a quality soundhole pickup for 50 bucks or get a good mic to play through.
