And why?

Mine:
High Fidelity- just a great collection of music

28 Days Later- actually don't know if they released an actual soundtrack, but whoever did the score/music for the film nailed it

Judgment Night- Love the collaborations from artists you wouldn't think of putting together

I'm a really big fan of Broadway shows, so when a major hit gets made into a movie and both fave and unkown movie stars can sing and dance in the movie version, buying a movie soundtrack is a must!

Faves:

Tommy

The Wall

Rocky Horror Picture Show (Tim Curry I love you!!!)

The Producers

Evita

Annie (Tim Curry I love YOU)

Ferngully (more Tim Curry - sexiest voice um, ummm)

Phantom of the Opera

Saturday Night Fever

Grease

etc... you get the picture. NOT on the fave list = high school musical, hairspray (sorry John Travolta, but you are gross as a woman).

Ooohh - Last of the Mohicans, what an awesome soundtrack... how could I have forgotten?

Gosh, I almost forgot = The Jazz Singer with Neil Diamond. love love love his voice!!!

A Clockwork Orange - Walter Carlos (later to be renamed Wendy Carlos,) nailed the futuristic vibe of this eerie cult classic.

The Graduate - Simon and Garfunkel, what more do you want?

Repo Man - As stated previously Punk F'ing Rock

Pulp Fiction - Tarantino picks out sweet tunes for his movies

Death Proof - See above

Juno - Kimya Dawson is one of the sweetest people you'll ever meet and she can write a lovely song

Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny - The greatest rock band on the face of the earth, it was their second official release.

The 300- had badass action and suspenseful music goes from straight instrumental to rock.

Ironman- Needless to say it was not only an action packed movie but the music was awesome especially with the guitar playing contributions of Tom Morello (Rage Against the Machine and Audioslave)

The Wall- Self-Explanatory

Dazed and Confused- Led Zeppelin music= Awesome

Forrest Gump- The soundtrack ranges from Bob Dylan, Jimi Hendrix, to The Doors. It's such a classic.

Armageddon- Gotta love Aerosmith and Bon Jovi

City of Angels- This music on this film was beautiful one of my favorites to listen to at night. Peaceful and well what can i say it's probably just a chick thing. lol.

Children of Men - Interesting, smart collection of songs (from Deep Purple to John Lennon to King Crimson), not to mention BEAUTIFUL original compositions by Sir John Tavener.

Almost Famous, Elizabethtown, Jerry Maguire, Say Anything..., Singles, Vanilla Sky - Any movie directed by Cameron Crowe will have TERRIFIC music. Music is a very important part of his films and he knows music... he was a teenage journalist for Rolling Stone Magazine (he published his first cover story on The Allman Brothers Band when he was 16). I find the Vanilla Sky soundtrack especially moving and unique.
