My list gets even uglier when you throw in some compilation packages like Robert Cray, Eric Clapton, Led Zeppelin, Rod Stewart and Greg Lake. I also have a ton of country and some old school R&B. Starting to pick up Sound Choice karaoke discs now. 3000 discs in all.

Thanks for making me work.

At one time I was a completist type.... now I buy stuff sparingly (I only have so much room)... but off the top of my head here's a list of artists where I have all (or close to it):

Genesis - including all solo offshoots - Gabriel, Collins/Brand X, Hackett/GTR, Rutherford/Mike + Mechanics, Phillips, Banks, Wilson/_Cut/Stiltskin (AFAIK I'm only missing the Flaming Youth & Quiet World albums that I have no interest in, as well as most of the official soundboards. But if you are seeking out a complete Genesis collection that includes the solo acts, that's over 100 discs. I think Ant Phillips has over 20 all by himself).

Ramones

Yes

Neil Young

Camel

Byrds

Beatles

Beach Boys

The Who (studio albums)

McCartney (except Liverpool Oratorio, Pipes of Peace, Broadstreet soundtrack, & Family Way soundtrack, but I think I have everything else)

Springsteen (missing 2 at least)

Bjork

Rush (except the cover album)

James Taylor (except original flying machine, and if he did anything after October Road)

Al Green - secular stuff only (except I might be missing 1 or 2 of them)

Traffic

U2

Talking Heads - studio stuff only

plus there are artists that I have several titles from, some scattered throughout the career (Bowie, Dylan, Costello), some zeroing in on a section of the career that I found vital (Elton John 70-76, Stevie Wonder 72-80), and some that is both (Miles Davis - probably all his fusion efforts, plus some scattered stuff prior to that).

John Lennon

George Harrison

Paul McCartney

Billy Squire

Soundgarden

Alice in Chains

Metallica

David Bowie

Jimi Hendrix

A good number of newer bands, but that's not all that impressive since they generally have at most like 5 albums.

So, Pink Floyd.

If it has been released legally on CD I own it.

I am close with The Who now, and I am working on a David Bowie collection, which will be very difficult to acquire.

L.A. Guns first album L.A. Guns from 1988, their second album ****** and Loaded from 1989, and their third album Hollywood Vampires from 1991 rocks.

W.A.S.P.'s first album W.A.S.P. from 1984 and their second album Last in Command from 1985 are great also.

Black n Blue's first album Black n Blue from 1984, their second album Without Love from 1985, and their third album Nasty Nasty from 1985 were great also.

Harlequin's greatest hits from 1984 is a must have because it has Sweet Things in Life from 1979, and I Did It For Love from 1982 are on the cd. I would've suggested their 1979 release Victim of a Song, 1980 release Love Crimes, and their 1982 One False Move however they weren't released on cd.

Fiona Flanagan's first album Fiona from 1984, her second album Beyond The Pale from 1985, and her third album Heart Like A Gun from 1989 are must haves.

Y&T, Rough Cutt, Heart, Sebastian Bach and friends Bring Em' Bach Live and his other cd he had called The Last Hard Men are definitely cds you should have.

Skid Row's first album from 1989 was a smash hit, too bad Jon Bon Jovi owns all copyrights of that album, and their second album Slave to the Grind was even better.
