Kitty--and I have told the story of my name a couple of times before, but I will share it once again, for I find it funny.

My real name is Madeline. However, back when I was 2-3 years old, I hated that name. I insisted that no one call me that. But I did not have another name for myself, so I kept it for a while... Around the same time, I was obsessed with cats. My obsession only grew stronger because I could not have one--my mom is allergic. One day, it just struck me. I should name myself Kitty. So I presented the idea to my parents that night (they were still together at the time), and they went along with it. They thought it was just a fad, that after a while, I would want my other name back. I did not. The name stuck. That was when I was three. For years I kept it secret that I had changed my name, for fear that people would call me Madeline again. My obsession over cats had gone, but my hate for my old name had not. At last I reached an age at which it seemed like everyone else seemed to think it was cool that people changed their names, so I told everyone. Now some people call me Madeline, but I don't really care.

What do you liked to be called? Katie? Beatlemaniac? BeatlesHO? Just so I can call you what you want to be called...

Obsessions: the Beatles and Led Zeppelin. Any of my friends will agree to that. And any of the other bands I like, but not as much...

Favorite movie: any Monty Python movie or Ferris Beuller's Day Off.

Favorite TV show: That 70's Show

Favorite food: dried mango! It is amazing, I could eat so much. I ate a pound of it at one time... LOL. At least it is healthy (right?).

Favorite drink: lemonade, I could live off of that stuff!

Doldrums (by the way your new avatar is great) reminded me--when I was in 4th and 5th grade, we would study the 60's a lot--particularily Martin Luther King Jr. I have VERY strong feelings about racism--it revolts me. Every single class we would have in which we discussed that, I would make a passionate speech (which would impress my teacher) and then break down crying. And then when we weren't talking about it, and doing math or reading or something else, I would memorize the 'I Have a Dream' speech--it was up on the wall of our classroom. I had memorized A LOT of it, but then our teacher took it down at the end of the month, and eventually I couldn't remember it anymore...

Edit--LOL, that is what I thought. I will call you Katie, because to me it seems more friendly-like.

Edit #2--I like being on a first name basis too. It makes feel like, even though I probably will never meet anyone here, I am as close to knowing them as possible.

-My name is Olivia. I'm 20, a Junior in college, and I'm majoring in literature.



-I'm from Georgia, and with the exception of an older cousin, I'm the most open-minded person in my family of conservatives. I also have the most dramatic family I've ever heard of, which is weird because my immediate family is so normal. My friends keep telling me I should write a book about them.



-I love reading (obviously), and some of my passions include writing, movies, water sports (swimming, skiing, knee-boarding, wake-boarding), and music. Sadly, I cannot sing, dance, or play an instrument. : (



-Movies: 1) The Boondock Saints 2) Fight Club 3) Requiem for a Dream 4) American Beauty 5) Donnie Darko. (My favorite actors are Edward Norton and Kevin Spacey, and my favorite actress is Helena Bonham Carter, who is extremely good at playing the crazies).

-Books: I love transgressional fiction, so Chuck Palahniuk is my favorite author. Though I love Kurt Vonnegut and Tim O'Brien (who I think is today's best and most underrated author) just as much. "Fight Club", "The Things They Carried," and "The Picture of Dorian Gray" are my favorites.



I'm a good mixture of my mom (calm and sweet) and my dad (funny with a quick temper). So I can be fine one minute, but when I've had enough, I make that pretty clear. I also love dogs. I have a problem with speeding, whether driving or riding dirtbikes or jet-skis, yet I hate tubing because getting slung across the water (and it -does- feel like cement when you hit) at thirty miles an hour strangely does not appeal to me. But other than water-sports and track (in highschool only), I'm not athletic -at all-. I'm extremely clumsy, and accident prone. In fact, I injured myself playing a non-contact sport. Which is pretty difficult to do, yet I found a way.



I'm a horrible procrastinator. Like now, for instance, I have a three papers (which I have not started on), a French test (tomorrow), and an American Diversity test all due this week by Wednesday. And I'm on Yahoo! Answer...



I also take forever to tell stories, if you can't tell... It's a bad habit.

I love to watch "Family Guy' and "Scrubs" I even watch "SpongeBob" when my son is not home. I could sit and list a few but my favorite SpongeBob is called "Wishing You Well" its the one where Mr.Krabs gets an idea to have a wishing well in front of the Krusty Krab.

Food: bacon... I just ate some... it was amazing and my arteries must love me



Once in English class we had a sub, and to start the day he went around the room asking us what our favorite book was. I said A Clockwork Orange, and he's like, "That's a strange choice for a nice, young girl like you." It was kind of embarrassing.



In French class one day our teacher had us write sentences (in French) about what we would do if there was a snow day. My friend and I wrote one that said we would dance to David Bowie in the snow. We had to read one aloud, and we chose that one. No one got it except the teacher and like three other people... pretty sad...



Most people are telling funny stories, but I think this tells a lot about me, so... once in English class (sorry to keep mentioning class) we had a discussion about society, racism, classism, and all that good stuff because we had just read Huck Finn. After about an hour of this I broke down into tears, and started scribbling quotes from A Clockwork Orange all over my notebook. It was so hard to think about all the horrible things in the world and realize that they'll never get fixed because it's all just a never-ending cycle. That's probably more than any of you care about, and no one's going to read this, but oh well...

my aunt didnt know that, so we went to KMart one day, and she needed a new filter, boy did she find out that i was terrified of the vacuums that day!



my uncle took me to a store when i was 4 or earlier, probably trying to pick up chicks. i guess he was getting some attention,

and my grandma took me to the grocery store when i was young, and this guy was talking to her, and i said "what a sad, strange little character you are!"

i heard that from Pocahontas. which i could spell by a young age.

i was reading by the age of 3, and i would read the Cashiers nametags and call them by their names
