One of my favorite bands that inspired me are Devo and I've actually come considered started making my music in similar style. I like a wide range of other rock and electronic music genres but I've noticed that there are some bands that Devo are influenced by that I'm not that fond of.

Them being: Kraftwerk, Brian Eno, and Tangerine Dream.

I feel as though I'm supposed to like these artists since I like all of Devo's other influences and these are kind of like their core of electronic music. Is it wrong to not like them? I mean I love a ton of electro, new wave, synth-pop, ambient, krautrock, new age bands but I don't seem to like their so called roots and when I read about how an artist I like loves the bands I don't I feel ashamed for some reason.

Not at all. It's like being in a relationship.

I mean, I love my girlfriend and she likes death metal, do I have to like it to just because she does? No. An does she have to love punk rock just because I do? No. Th important thing is I love who she is and she loves who I am.

No. Eno is a brilliant artist who's influences can be traced, practically everywhere from Beck to Radiohead. Now if Devo is an important band to you, I think you should listen to their influences, but you don't have to like them. The important thing is that you understand what they're coming from, and what they're doing with it.

I've heard Kraftwerk and Devo. I think they're different. Devo is part of the New Wave scene, I think and Kraftwerk is just electronica. No matter what, you should have your own opinion. It doesn't matter who it is.

You oughta be ashamed in yourself. I mean really, who do you think you are for not liking a certain band? It's not like you should have your own opinion or anything.
