Question:
What is Rush's worst album?

My choices.

1. Hold Your Fire
2. Power Windows
3. Test for Echo
4. Vapor Trails
5. Snakes & Arrows

With Power windows and Hold your fire, they were beyond lost musically. It wasn't until Presto or Roll the Bones where they found themselves again. In the early days, they were ALWAYS about going against with what was popular and trendy (2112), and here they are going all new wave ala the Police on everyone. I know when they did moving pictures, they were already starting to go mainstream and they had a more commercial sound anyway, BUT IT STILL SOUNDED LIKE RUSH. Presto was a true return to form for the guys, in my opinion.

Never cared much for anything they released after Moving Pictures. So all of the above, and then some. Even Clockwork Angels with all of it's pre-release hype was an over produced epic joke in my opinion.

1. Vapour Trails (even Rush fell victim to the loudness war)

2. Roll the Bones (Rush or not Rush, grunge is not my thing)

3. Test for Echo (could not get into this)

All I can say is Rush has never released anything bad.

I still find their New Wavey post Grace stuff to be Rush grade material. (Yes, I like Power Windows and Hold Your Fire) Not as good as their heavy prog or neo prog era but great nonetheless.

Snakes and Arrows is far from my favorite but still solid.

Hold your Fire get's my vote. Way too much synth and keyboard. only two or three songs off that album that are really worth mentining. Time Stand Still even falls short to 99% of rush discography
