what goes good with Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix & Janis Joplin?
?

in my current order of CDs, i have the 2 disk set of the doors, followed by the 2 disk set of Jmi Hendrix, then soon to be a 2 disk set of Janis Joplin.
i'm thinking maybe put The Rolling Stones 40 licks next, but then again when Brian Jones died, the band still went on.
i could put nirvana there, but Kurt Cobain was 90's, not 60's.

so what should i put next?

You could put Nirvana cuz of this coincidence:

Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, and Kurt Cobain all died at age 27.

First off, I've got a theory that I don't think everyone will appreciate. So, it seems as if a lot of great musicians from the past, have now become jokes. Amazing musicians from back in the day did one of two things, either they stepped back, or they kept on playing And became washed up has beens. There are very few exceptions to this, but maybe one or two of the aforementioned musicians would still be praise worthy today and not because of their past, however the others I doubt would be so lucky. Many of them would probably have had careers in the seventies, and hopeful they are to musical strong to be taken over by the dark side of disco, however in the eighties I think their careers would have fallen apart, because, there is a huge difference between eighty-five and sixty-five

So you are putting together a "60's-70s rock singers who died early" collection? And it doesn't count if he wasn't the key member of the band?

I might say then:

Otis Redding

Little Feat (Lowell George died '79 I think)

Lynyrd Skynyrd
Keeler

The Kinks

The Who (from the sixties, I'd go with Sell Out and Tommy)

The Beatles

Led Zeppelin

Pink Floyd

Well anything you dig I guess, CCR maybe?or Beatles? That's what I got into after being addicted to Janis and The Doors.

well, the common denominator of your selected artists is that they are already gone from this world. you could put nirvana too. try other artists with dead members. that would make your collection nice. good luck!
