Well, do you have a module/brain of some kind? A trigger on it's own won't do much.
Here is a really quick and basic explanation ( and it's real hard to give an accurate answer with little info) -
If you want to use a particular wav. sample off your computer, you need a sampler with outputs. There are literally hundreds of brands, but generally any decent sampler is not a cheap option. Go to music store - you'll see.
If you just want to try triggering on the cheap, but a second-hand Roland electronic kit module like a TD 6 (or similar brand). Or one of those really nasty electronic kits from a music store. The sounds in these modules are sometimes not too bad, but you cannot load or add sounds. You can only use whats already there.
Basically, an electronic kit is just a bunch of triggers. All of the sounds come from the module / brain. Any trigger works with any brain.

First, you need a "drum module." This is where you plug the actual trigger into. Also the module will sense the vibrations from the trigger and produce a sound which is exported to a speaker. I have the Ddrum Red Shot which is good and would recommend. You're probably best off talking to someone at your local music store, Guitar Center/Sam Ash, etc....

I don't know sorry.
