Hendrix is definitely a legend, Cobain if not is very close.



However Beiber has not even qualified as a great. Becoming a great takes at minimum ten years, and as much as twenty. To become a legend, he has a long ways to go, that takes at minimum twenty years to accomplish, if not closer to thirty years, with influencing other recording artists over that long of a time period. Then there has to be an impact on music, that can over the course of a long career, that has somehow altered significantly a genre of music, again he's not had enough time to achieve a lasting affect on music.



Also he has yet to chart on the American charts a number one hit. On the U.S. Charts he has three top tens. He has only one number one in his own country, with five top ten hits, and one in France at number one. Two top ten hits for the U.K. I think that with those numbers, combined his short career to date preclude him being a great let alone a long ways from being a legend already. Any awards that he has won have in the last few years started to become meaningless, as they have been losing their prestige for the last fifteen years, with the revolving door that the recording companies have now.

IM not a hater of justin by any means and some of his songs are good but, hes not that good to be considered a legend in music, plus hes extremely young still. maybe 30 years from now if people still love him and his songs are still playing, we will see.

I don't agree because I don't understand why people think they are so great. I like some Nirvana songs, but I don't see how they are so inspirational or whatever. I also don't understand why people think Jimi Hendrix is seen as a phenomenal guitarist. I never got and never will get why people love Justin Bieber.
