Ok. So I am having a discussion with a kid who thinks that Joey Jordison is a better drummer than Danny Carey. I obviously think Danny is far better. anyone else agree and explain why

I honestly think Joey is a very overrated drummer. So overrated that he got "the best drummer of the last 25 years" title over someone like Mike Portnoy. I agree, Danny Carey is much better. Very underrated drummer. Plus he can handle other percussion very well, not just the set.

I prefer Slipknot to Tool, but id say i prefer Danny Carey as a drummer..*-)
Good face off between drummers my friend, a very worthy star to you..*-)
Most bands are held together by their bassist, the musicians in most bands gravitate around their bassist. But danny carey to me is a rare breed of drummer that fills that roll on drums. If that makes sense? And that takes a great deal of skill and a great deal of dicipline .

well, to be technical, joey just uses double kicks and rides his toms.
he might be fast, but thats where the talent stops, if youve ever listened to him play without the band, he is completely unorganized, danny is multitalented, if youve ever been to his site.
joey is just for show, and danny can actually play, people only like joey because he is in slipknot.
tool doesnt need 2 drummers and a guy beating on a trash can, they have danny carey, a college educated, virtuoso.

my boyfriend is a drummer and says joey is better because he's the fastest drummer in the world and has better beats than danny does.
