Yes. Sam Cooke is awesome.
One of my favorite songs is a cover of Willie Dixon's Little Red Rooster that he did on the splendid Night Beat album. Ray Charles plays piano on the song.
Ain't That Good News is a great album as well.

The thing about Sam Cooke (and I'm certainly not the first to make the point) is that his best work is really amazing, and a lot of the rest is utter fluff. Just totally forgettable. Sure, "A Change Is Gonna Come" could certainly be the best song ever written, but I don't quite by in to the whole legacy.

He was one of, if not the, greatest Male Soul Singers of all time! "A Change is Gonna Come" is an absolute Classic- indeed, possibly the best Soul song of all time. Otis Redding did a brilliant version, but Sam was an absolute Master of his Art!
