If everything goes right, my first should be in October. Weezer, Baby.
Anyway, what was yours?

MQ: Do you agree that Weezer are a group of nerds? I mean, They are my favorite band, but watch this and see what I mean.

On August 17th 1965, the Beatles were scheduled to play one show at Toronto's Maple Leaf Gardens. Harold Ballard (owner of the Gardens) sold tickets to two shows and told The Beatles manager Brian Epstein the band would have to play twice. Epstein was furious, but agreed. The Beatles performed on one of the hottest days of summer, so Ballard ordered the start of each show delayed, the thermostats turned up, the water fountains turned off, and the concession stands to only sell large drinks (a fortune was made on drink sales.)

Old Harold was a con man, and a thief! But thanks to him I got to see The Beatles twice in one day! Mind you, at the first show I was escorted by my Mom (how embarrassing)...but for the second show my cool cousin was my chaperon!

I wish I could re-live that day all over again!

My Father worked for CHUM radio in Toronto back then, and that day he attended The Beatles press conference held at the 'Hot Stove Lounge' in Maple Leaf Gardens. I gave my Dad a copy of the Beatles VI album, and asked if he could have the band sign it for me...I still have it to this day, though it's a little worn out. I guess I should have taken better care of my records when I was 13...but at that age who does?

After experiencing that historical event...I attended several concerts and festivals over the years. I worked in the radio and recording industry for much of my 20's and 30's, which eventually brought me to Europe...where I attended many shows...too many to recount! LOL I sill have around 200 ticket stubs that I've saved from bands like Deep Purple, Nektar, Led Zeppelin, Vanilla Fudge, Spirit, The Clash, The Rolling Stones, Uriah Heep, The Who, The Ramones, Grand Funk Railroad, Ten Years After, Aerosmith...etc etc etc.

MQ: Yeah, I like Weezer a lot too...and I agree that they do come off looking like nerds...but perhaps that's part of the reason they are so appealing? That and their music of course.

Have fun at the concert!

*Edit - Aaron...nope sorry man...I guess we're both outa luck! Lol.

*Edit - Dr. Sarcastic...it's nice to see you too! Thanks!

My first concert was Green Day, New Found Glory, and Sugarcult. Still the best concert I've ever been to. Even if Weezer are nerds, it doesn't matter, it's all about the music. Tons of band members are huge nerds but that doesn't affect their music being good or not.

I am jealous of you. I wish my first concert was something amazing like Weezer. My first concert was Fall Out Boy :(

MQ: Of course they are nerds. but thats why I love them

Yeah, they're pretty nerdy. But Rivers' nerdiness is what made The Blue Album and Pinkerton claaaassic.

Dude, I can't remember my first concert. I my first real one was a festival. Beck, Muse, Wolfmother, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Rogue Wave, The Like, a bunch of other people. 'Twas glorious.

MEAT LOAF! Absolutely EPIC!

Meat Loaf have been my fav since I was born. I'm 16 and was about 10 then, dressed in pants with flowers, pink floral top and pigtails with bows! It was seated, but we got nice seats... It was awesome, I would have been the youngest person there... The mmusic is sooo powerful...

Weezer might be a bit... Messier and cheaper...

My first concert was in 1976, Doobie Brothers (I think), or maybe it was the group Chicago...but I'm sure in was 1976...or 1977. I had consumed a few beverages then, plus now trying to remember is difficult.

Kid Rock, unfortunately.

Puddle of Mudd was there too. Whee. But I got a laugh out of it. They were drunk as fck and couldn't remember how any of their songs went. Kinda reminded me of a video of Axl Rose I once watched.

Welcome to the jungle! Mamamanada. And then he fell off the stage. Lmao.

The first band I saw was Duran Duran haha. It was my mom's idea.

Weezer have been like that since they first started making music, so they're probably trying to keep that image.

Whether they're nerds or not, they're still great. :P
