I'm in a bad mood. I had to sit through a boring presentation this morning, only one thing can pick me up...?

MQ: favorite 60s girl group songs?

BQ: can you think of any 60s girl group songs that are not about a boy or a dance craze?
BQ2: why do the most boring presentations always run through lunch?

It's obvious, but I'm a sucker for "Please Mr. Postman."

Here's the Baltimore club remix to make it interesting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jWKOaQ2XBBE

Another Baltimore club remix: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6LMtL2cz8g

Also obvious: Heatwave http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XE2fnYpwrng

Then He Kissed Me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cE_jOD2Fxvs

He's So Fine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpAcQrt8-SE

My Boyfriends Back http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n0VDYhFvu78

Slightly less obvious:

Egyptian Shumba: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Er8PN385PEA

He's Got the Power (Trigger warning): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BypDMhCSt7M

Necessary melodrama: Give Us Your Blessings: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XzwSEBz-GDY

"Nightmare" by The Whyte Boots isn't on YouTube, what a shame.

The one you posted is nice.

I haven't searched out any new (by which I mean old but unheard by me) girl group music in a while, I might have to start again.

BA: Those are the only two things worth writing about, tbh.

Oh jeez, long meetings are the worst, and some stiff necked fool gotta be in charge, you guys don't use Power Point do you? The Army was obsessed with Power Point. People getting all fancy pants with the animation and whatnot. I always used white slides with black type. Oh it's not pretty enough, sir? Sorry I failed the Martha Stewart portion of boot camp.

1: I have a Shirelles collection with like 30 songs on it, I think every song is about boys.

2: As you sit there, hungry, tired, desperate for a nap, you realize the person giving the presentation isn't just boring, she's/he's a selfish mean spirited little jerk. You contemplate giving a presentation that will run through their dinner. You see that that would only perpetuate the vicious cycle. You do it anyway.

BQ2 - I don't know but my boss can hold the most boring meetings. Sometimes he will take us to a business Lunch and we go - cool free food - but after listening to him for 45 minutes we would rather have a Peanut Butter sandwich and not have to listen to him to this.

The Shangri Las - "(Remember), Walking In The Sand" with sounds of the waves & gulls, fabuloso. Covered nicely by Aerosmith, don't forget.

"The Teddy Bears" - "To Know Him Is To Love Him" just ethereal, supposedly the words on Spector's Dad's tombstone.

BQ: "Zippity Doo Da" Bobb B. Sox & The Blue Jeans (another Spector creation) Check the guitar solo.

BQ2: So we can go to the pool / bar instead of the after-lunch session.

For real, I have the most basic, step-one girl group knowledge in the world.

MQ: It really doesn't get much better than Be My Baby.

BQ: I was about to say "see above" until I remembered it's about both of them. Oops.

2: Lunch is just a state of mind.
