'Ceremonials' by Florence + The Machine (released in October 2011) is my favourite album of the past year. It's a masterpiece of Indie Pop and Florence + The Machine are the best band I've discovered this year and I've since bought all their studio albums, after really getting into them right at the start of the year.

Also an honourable mention of Ed Sheeran's debut album '+' (released in September 2011). One of the best male vocalists I've heard in years.
