I don't indicate musicians and pay respects anymore on these questions because of all the Thumb Down and disrespectful people on here so in case your not a regular here I thought I would give you heads up

If you think metal is dead, you haven't heard nearly enough metal to judge. Pop is also doing quite well too. I fail to see how Lady Gaga, Ke$ha, and Justin Bieber are bad pop musicians. BQ: Metal guitarists are usually the most technically proficient guitarists because metal is a very demanding genre to play. Jazz players are right up there with them though. BQ2: I'm right here and that's all that matters.

I'm gonna have to say Freddie Mercury and Joey Ramone. Freddie Mercury is and incredible icon loved all over the world. He had an amazing voice and preformed so greatly. May he rest in peace.

Joey Ramone because he was a great icon as well, but in a different way he really appealed to young teens with his incredible lyrics and fast mind blowing music. May he rest in peace as well.

lol @ goglette, she probably just went onto Wikipedia and got a list of famous musicians who died. Richie James wasn't even a musician, he was a hopeless guitar player, and all he did was write some lyrics and go missing in 1995....big deal!

I would say the late great Andrew Wood from Mother Love Bone. They had potential to be one of the greatest bands, and the best band of the entire Seattle movement. They were certainly better then Nirvana.
