Why does everyone hate Nickelback?

I'm not a fan, but it just seems like EVERYBODY hates them.

Hahaha ive thought the same thing. I dont hate or necessarily like them but i mean why hate them when miley cirus and justin bieber are making music. Rock star and savin me are decent nickelback songs

Because some bands start with art, with something that one person or a small band of people want to say that hasn't been said the same way before. Others start with product, with the idea of selling something, whatever it might need to be, to make money and get fame.



Nickelback isn't much worse than a lot of others out there, but they're more successful than almost everyone else. You get the feeling that, with their product, they're taking up space that could go to some real artists.

Here's a fact about Nickelback; after The Beatles they are the biggest selling non US band in America. More records sold than Pink Floyd, The Who, Zeppelin, ABBA, Elton John, The Rolling Stones, U2, Radiohead, Bowie etc etc. So clearly not everyone hates them, the complete opposite. I however am not American and think they're music is shite.

What ever happened to bands like Silverchair? I can enjoy that type of mainstream music... just not Brokeback because they are an awful band. I don't mind mainstream bands like STP or Bush. Nickelback deserves no radio play and I hate them as much if not more than Kid Rock.

I don't why either. They're my favourite band and I think it's very disappointing that they have a lot of haters even though most people I know say they're an awesome band. But still it could be worse, they may have a crowd of haters, but at least they don't have as many haters as Justin Bieber or the Jonas Brothers.

I really dislike them, because the lead singer has a really raspy voice. The instrumentals are not bad, but I also just don't like that mainstream alternative rock vibe. I think a lot of people agree, hope that helps.

They're songs for the most part have a very consistent theme. I like them alright, they are actually the band I would listen to when I was street racing for a good race song. but thats just me
