I love The Scorpions but they have had some trouble with this.

The Scorpions - Virgin Killer

In some countries had to be sold in a black plastic wrapper. Voted one of the worst covers of all time.

The Scorpions - Taken By Force had to be redone.

I know alot of albums by Cannibal Corpse had to be redone or had a cover placed over the original while sold in most music stores. There artwork on almost all of their albums is extremely gorey and violent so after about the second album, they had "appropriate" covers over the unrated original album covers.

This album cover was banned for a while, here are a few songs to go with it. This band is called Carcass, the album is called Reek Of Putrefication.

EDIT: Oh, by the way. Some of the corpses on that album cover are real. That album cover is a collage of pictures from medical journals, and autopsies.

The original album cover for 'Beggars Banquet' by The Rolling Stones featured a toilet wall covered in graffiti; it was banned and replaced by an invitation card although subsequent CD re-issues feature the original artwork.

The original Blind Faith album featured a young naked girl and was sold with a cover on it, then later the artwork was changed. Also, Roxy Music's "Country Life" album was quite risque. Later versions were changed to accomodate community standards.

for system of a down's last album "Hypnotize", each member designed a cover. There is a common cover that most people know but rarely in Europe you will see one of the member's designs. The guitarist, Daron Malakian, designed one that was basically an upskirt view which was of course very controversial. But it is so rare that its not a big deal

Jimi Hendrix's Electric Ladyland album cover had to be redone because the original had a group of nude women on it.

The original cover for Guns N' Roses' 'Appetite for Destruction' had to be concealed inside the album jacket (not visible until the album was opened, after purchase), because it displayed a rape victim.
