Lots of christians believe that christian rock and metal is wrong. Ronchy guitars and tunes. Even if the lyrics are in the right place and glorify God. But if it is wrong why would God give them the talent to play so well.

Christian rock isn't necessarily wrong. However, not all Christians support it. The Christians who told you they don't support it are probably Catholic and not Protestant. I am a Catholic, and the priest at my church preached one Sunday about how Catholics shouldn't listen to or play Christian rock; because most of it is based in Protestant and Fundamentalist churches; which teach that all you have to do is believe in Jesus and you will go to Heaven. The Catholic church, on the other hand, believes that it's not simply enough to say "Jesus is my savior." You also have to live your life according to the teachings of Jesus, including peace, love, forgiveness, and taking care of those less fortunate. The Catholic church also teaches that Jews and Muslims can be saved as well, because they believe in God. The Catholic frowns upon Christian rock because many of the songs contain lyrics about how Jesus is the only way and all you have to do is believe in God; which are out of line with Catholic theology.

It doesn't mean that God hasn't blessed these musicians with talent. or even that Christian rock is wrong. It just means that it is not for all Christian denominations.

Also, some Catholic churches have a program called Life Teen, where the music at Mass is in a rock format. The songs that Life Teen play are written by and for Catholics, unlike the more mainstream Christian bands.

I grew up Penticostal and then later on, Four Square. My church sponsered several Record Burnings. I chose not to participate. They also frowned upon Christian Rock and Metal. I always wondered why. I mean, if one is wrong, at least justify the alternative, right?

I am totally into Living Sacrifice by the way

Good question!! Along the same lines, why does God also give strippers such a sexy body and talent? Why did God give man such intelligence to reason out Evolution when everyone KNOWS the Earth is mere thousands of years old? Where DID those fossils come from? The mind boggles.

Rock music is just like any other form of music. Nothing God created is 'wrong' or 'bad'. Christian Rock is hence just like any other form of worship. Whatever works for you as long as your intent is right and your doing it to worship and glorify Him. Christian rock bands rule! how can u not love Delirious? etc..

Anyone who says music is wrong is WRONG.

Music is beautiful, expecially if it's glorifying God.

Listen to whatever you want.

You can't justify everything through God.

Don't bring religion around this section.

We have enough drama as it is, we don't need this everlasting debate to start.

There is no god. The point is moot.

Lots of Christians also believe that God is responsible for flowers and bunnies, but not cancer and famine. If God is omnipowerful, then he is responsible for all things, good and bad. At the very least, he is morally responsible for the bad things.

We live in the 21st century. It's time to let go of these silly myths.
