Beatles - 10 Their music has transcended the world of rock & roll. Many of their songs have become standards throughout the world.

Beach Boys - 10 The same can be said about the boys from California. Brian Wilson is every bit the song writer as Lennon-McCartney.

Association - 9 Greatest singing group of all time. I would have given them a 10 but for the fact that they had so many internal problems with the band. Brian Cole "OD'd" early into the bands history. Many considered him to be one of the greatest bass players of all time. Beautiful music!

Eagles - 9 Spit the world of R&R and Country Rock. Excellent musicians but has a limited following.

Steely Dan - 10 Absolutely incredible musicians and song writing. Donald Fagen & Walter Becker are both on level of their own.

Rolling Stones - 8 Many said they were the greatest rock and roll band in the world. Maybe so but that was 40 years ago. Still, they can get it done, even if they are all in their 60s and 70s.

Spencer Davis Group with Steve Winwood - 7 Winwood put SDG on the map but soon after Steve went on his own, SDG did okay but not great. Good music, decent band.

Doobie Brothers with Michael McDonald - 9 Outstanding group made better with McDonald on keyboard. Great R&R band but could play just about anything.

The Who 10 Greatest drummer (Keith Moon) and bass player (John Entwistle) in R&R history. Some really great stuff.

The Doors 7 Can't go much higher than a 7 on them because they never reached their potential as a band due to Jim Morrison's death. "Light My Fire" is a R&R classic.

Beatles 9 Trailblazers

Beach Boys 7 Fun stuff. makes me want to dance around like a goof

Association 5 Not all that familiar.

Eagles 8 two words. Joe. Walsh.

Steely Dan 10 My favorite band ever. Greatest songs, lyrics and musicianship

Rolling Stones 9 trailblazers. More soul than the Beatles

Spencer Davis Group with Steve Winwood 5 Not all that familiar. Prolly should have been more visible

Doobie Brothers with Michael McDonald 7 Hitmakers, reminds me of growing up out west.

The Who 9 from 1966-78 they were awesome rock and roll.

The Doors 7 Overrated. Didnt think Jims poems were all that great, but the songs are good.

I give a 10 to Beatles,Beach Boys,Eagles,The Stones and The Doors because they

are all among the All-Time Great rock bands.Yes-The Beach Boys could rock as well

as anybody.

I give an 8 to the Spencer Davis Group only because of 'Gimme Some Lovin".Winwood

left before they could establish themselves.

The Association and The Who merit a 7 because I like some of their music.

The Doobie Brothers are from my home town of San Jose,California but I always thought

they sucked.

Steely Dan is not really a band in the sense that Becker and Fagen mostly used studio

musicians and after 1978 were strictly an in studio entity.
