It can be an Original song on a Cd, like The Flaming Lips Do you realize song, which was used for a Land rover commercial, I also heard a The New Pornographers song on.. I forgot the bloody commercial.. and I have heard countless crappy beatles covers like the Jonas brothers cover of "Hello, Goodbye" used for some.. Target? ad.. but I heard a "With a little help from my friends" cover that was EVEN worse, used for some hotel commercial.

hm, I am pretty sure I heard a ghastly cover of "Hush" on a car commercial, and a pretty good "Melt with you cover" from Nouvelle vague, though I forgot what the commercial was about.

Won't Get Fooled Again - The Who ~ Nissan Maxima comercial a few years back. The car sliding sideways through the desert with that song going. Made me want to buy one!

levi jeans always had a good way with music in their ads. in the uk it was almost guaranteed that the tune in the latest levi's ad would get to number 1 in the national pop charts. i think i remember that happening with 'spaceman' by babylon zoo, and 'underwater love' by.... um... i forget.
