I missed the Meshuggah show the other evening in St. Paul. It way sold out.

Looking for other cool metal bands to enjoy but 99% of what I hear on 93x is crap and 99% of the stuff on Headbanger's Ball is crap. Looking for something pure that I can check out and maybe check out live.

I like Meshuggah, Metallica, The Scorpions, Slayer, the band that the guy who used to host Headbangeer's Ball is from (I think his name is Jaimie), and Barry Manillow. Do not like Lamb of G_d very much.

Actually also looking for something with very hard, and proficicient, music but with better vocals than the UUUUUUUURRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHH stuff you hear so much these days.

You should most definitely check out Anomalous, they are extremely complex and mathematical, even moreso than Meshuggah (although their demo features a drum machine, they have a drummer now and Marco from Brain Drill has covered a few songs). Mapping those songs out by ear would be impossible. However, you may not like the vocals.

For other technical bands, i guess Origin, Brain Drill, Necrophagist, etc all the tech death. Between the Buried and Me is also interesting, they are technically proficient yet do not show it off nonstop like tech death (although i do love my tech death), they write complex, enjoyable stuff.
