Still have a few laying around, though amusingly enough, with no way to play them. I was very slow to join the CD movement, and am even less inclined to do the E-Music shuffle (Since unlike Mp3 and such, CDs at least DO sound better than cassettes)
So.. actually held some cassettes in my hand just last week when I was dusting the shelves.. they had a LOT of dust on em.
BQ: CD = Vinyl (IMO)
not that they are a perfect match.. but I believe both shine in different formats. On classic recordings, or on the rare occasions music is still done on analogue equipment, Vinyls do seem to carry a warmth and depth of sound that CDs lack, as stuff like my old Jethro Tull albums sound so much more RIGHT to me on vinyl. (I have some greatest hits CDs in the cars and the songs just don't sound the same)
BUT, IMO, on any music recorded digitally, which is 90% or more these days, there is no advantage to vinyl, as the nuances, minor imperfections, quavers, distortions and all have already been stripped out (hence the generally much more sterile feel of modern music.. I feel the perceived lack of quality in today's music is as much the recording as the songwriting... but then I am a proponent of the Wabi-Sabi philosophy where things are defined by their flaws.. so flawless means flavorless)
But. my Vinyl ALWAYS skips when I try to play it in my car!

BQ2- Not great yet. Usually would be on the way to the Kingdom Hall this time of day for some edification and association with my brothers and sisters, but have a headache that kinda wiped that out... it's slowly getting better, but not fast enough to accomplish anything.
Yesterday was great though.... got to spend the day with 2 dear friends and their 11 month old son at the zoo...
