Don't understand how "The Grand Wazoo" can cost £100 unless it's a rare or limited edition!

Anyway.

Your question is hard to answer - is the gift for a die-hard Zappa fan who has most of his stuff?

In that case,

"Rare Meat", "Tinsel Town Rebellion" maybe "Zappa In New York" would be welcome as something extra for the collection.

The bottom half of your list (anything below "Studio Tan") are all classic, very famous Zappa albums (not sure why they are labelled as "rare" - this is eBay I suppose? Be careful : )

Any serious Zappa fan would have them already (on CD, at least).

The flip side is that getting a favourite album on vinyl is not a bad thing either. And it's a bonus if it's actually a rare version in mint condition, so it has some appeal as a collectible.

So my advice is to probe your "target" a little more and make an educated guess (or flip through their record collection when they aren't around...)

Good luck!

That's a toughie! I really don't have a FAVORITE since they're all good in my opinion. I would however recommend Burnt Weeny Sandwich. There's really some beautiful music on that album. I just love how Little House I Used To Live In starts and moves along. Fantastic stuff!! Hope this helps...

None of these will due. If you're gonna shoot the works or 'mainline' you want to locate a copy of Frank Zappa's Lather on vinyl.

If they are hardcore fans you might try "Shut Up and Play Your Guitar", A collection of Franks guitar solos. Not well known but really cool!

There's no question on this......the only answer is "JUST ANOTHER BAND FROM L.A. ", or else get "MOTHERMANIA " , a rare vinyl L.P. that is not in print on CD's.
